This cottage garden favourite produces a dense mat of grey woolly foliage that can be used as ground cover. Plants send up spires of pink/purple flowers in summer. Prefers well-drained soil. Often grown just for the foliage you can remove the flower spikes for denser more vigorous foliage.

Growing Info:
Sow under cover Feb-Apr or Sep-Oct onto the surface of moist but free-draining seed compost. Lightly cover and keep at ~18-20c during the day. Water from the base and germination can take around 30 days. When large enough to handle transplant to individual pots. Harden off before planting out after risk of frost has passed.
Aftercare:
Cut flowers off entirely if you would like to grow just for foliage. Remove dead foliage as required and divide congested clumps in spring.
