This is a large, highly productive kale, with violet leaves that turn a violet-blue after frosts. Hardy to tough winter conditions, the versatile leaves can be eaten young in salads, or once mature, treated as a winter green and steamed or sautéed with garlic. A hardy vegetable providing a long season of harvest.

Growing Info:
Sow sparingly into drills in a well prepared seed bed 1.5cm deep. Can also be started early under cover in modules, 2 seeds per module. Thin out the the strongest seedling per module and transplant once large enough. Plants should be spaced out to 60cm.
Aftercare:
Plants may require netting for protection against Cabbage White butterflies. Plant Nasturtiums elsewhere on your veg plot to draw the Cabbage White butterflies away.
