This sturdy Larkspur produces abundant, pale-purple flowers all summer, and can keep going to the first hard frost. They make lovely cottage-garden flowers and superb cut flowers. Cut young they should last over a week in fresh water. The flower spires can also be dried and used in dry flower arrangements. Caution: All parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested

Growing Info:
Jan-April or Sep-Oct, surface sow in seed compost under glass. Lightly cover with thin layer of compost and keep at 15-18°C. Germination can take 1-2 months. Acclimatise young plants before planting out when risk of frost has passed. Sow in-situ April-May, in drills 6mm deep, in prepared soil, raked to a fine tilth. Thin out seedlings to 15cm apart. Overwinter autumn-sown seeds for flowers the following year.
Aftercare:
Deadhead faded flowers just above flowering side shoots to encourage more flowers.
