Growing Info: Feb-April, sow undercover, in trays or pots of moist seed compost. Surface sow and cover with a thin layer of soil or vermiculite. Keep at 15-20°C for germination. Transplant seedlings to larger pots when they have established 2-4 true leaves. Acclimatise plants gradually and plant 60-70cm apart when frosts have finished.
Aftercare: Supply additional support with canes. After flowering, either lift and compost if treating as an annual, or store roots in frost free conditions over the winter. In milder areas, mulch over the roots and overwinter in the ground.
