An old-fashioned branching variety, these sturdy plants produce abundant purple flowers from June to September and can keep going to the first hard frost. They make great cottage garden flowers and are good cut flowers with a good vase life. Cut young they should last over a week in fresh water. Caution: All parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested

Growing Info:
Freeze seed for a week before sowing to break dormancy. Sow under cover Jan-Apr or outside May-Jun. Lightly cover with vermiculite. If starting early under cover, acclimatise during May before planting out when risk of frost has passed.

Deadhead spent flowers just above flowering side shoots to encourage more flowers.
