A classic Mediterranean vegetable, known as 'Fire Tongue' beans in Italy. Borlotto beans are beautiful as well as delicious. Their decorative pods add an ornamental element to a vegetable garden, where they will happily grow in a sunny corner. Ready for harvest July to October.

Growing Info:
Sow under cover April to May in pots 2cm deep, or direct sow outdoors 5cm deep, 25cm apart from May-July. If grown under cover, wait for risk of frost pass before planting seedlings out. Keep well-watered. At time of planting in their final growing locations, provide plants with canes or netting for support as they climb.
Aftercare:
Harvest beans while pods are young from July onwards. Beans can be eaten fresh, or frozen and dried for winter use.
