Sky blue star-shaped flowers that cover the plant in summer. Prefers well-drained soil. Easy to grow to fill spaces at the back of the flowerbed or in a herb garden. The leaves can be used as salad. The roots have been used to great bitter tasting coffee substitute since the 1700's.

Growing Info:
For Spring or autumn sowing, sow 3-5mm deep in shallow drills where soil has been prepared to a fine tilth. Space 30cm apart and water during dry spells. Once large enough to handle, thin out the weakest seedlings to 30cm spacing.
Aftercare:
Deadhead if you do not want self-seeding around the garden.
